Moufle (Pulley)
This drawing is by French architectural student E. Letort, and shows a full size representation of a pulley block, or 'polie à moufle’. The drawing was made at the height of the Belle Époque era, when some of Paris’s most iconic buildings went up. The pulley would have been an essential tool for construction at the time.
The original drawing is exquisitely rendered in pencil, pen, ink and watercolour on wove paper. We loved the immediacy of the pulley as an object taken completely out of context.
